Okay....so sorry about the last couple days...something was going on with my blog and I think and I truly hope it is now going to be okay for good!

Again, my blog is not going to really have any significant subject...just things I would like to share with people. (Mainly the ones that know me and my family personally!)

Which brings me to my newest story....

Sunday I went to my niece Nicole's 15th Birthday party which is a little ridiculous - she is getting too old and already talking about driving next year! In fact she is already planning on going with me to GMA week 2009 and getting in a lot of her driving hours on the way! Oh boy...where has the time gone?

Anyway, while at her party...someone mentioned something about my nephew Dean going to the ER for stitches AGAIN!!! (I had no idea because I was out of town last week!) You see, He has been to the ER numerous times in the past 9 months, with a nice amount of stitches from a dog bite, then about a month or so later...stitches again in his hand from diving for a stick that was stuck in the mud, then a concussion from being pushed into the wall while playing hockey, then this - and for some reason I feel like I'm leaving something out...but anyway here's the story and pictures!

So I guess Dean was in the locker room at school last week sometime and heard Michael Jackson - if any of you know Dean, he is the class clown...he is just always getting people to laugh anyway he can and so being a goof ball he was "moon-walking" to Michael Jackson...and while doing so I guess started to fall and grabbed onto an open locker that sent him to the ER to get stitches! Dean said it like this - "how cool is that I get stitches cause I was moon-walking"...and he also responded to is mother with - "I couldn't help it, they were playing Michael Jackson."

Then his cousins fiance decided to take out his stitches for him, since they were due out yesterday and they were falling out anyway...

Pretty Much the most FUN week EVER!

Okay...
So first off, about a year ago my Lovely friend Sarah Barlow told me I should totally have my own blog spot. I always thought that I could never - just because I could never have one main focus for a blog - but this week definitely inspired me to blog....because it was truly worth sharing with the world! :)

So this past week my best friend Angela and I took a road trip down to my favorite place ever...Nashville, TN...for GMA week! It was super fun and I have many stories to share...
We arrived in Nashville at approximately 1:20pm Saturday April 19th...being that two girls from Chicago were staying in a hotel for almost a full week - 8 hours from home - we packed enough for 2 months! The bellman wanted to know if we got kicked out of Chicago! We checked in, made our room "homie" and then needed to take a little walk to the Convention Center at the other end of the hotel to purchase concert and award tickets, where we just so happend to run into some really cool band called Sevenglory which we have come to know and love pretty well, it was nice to see some faces we knew so quickly!

That evening my very good friend Grant Norsworthy was playing at a Church service in a near by town. We enjoyed the Church service and Grant's bass playing and then we headed over to the cutest little deli/cafe place in downtown Franklin, TN (which is truly my all time favorite place!) called The Franklin Mercantile.

The guys from Sevenglory told us earlier they were playing there...we actually only ended up being able to stay for the sound check but it was a cool set up. We then went back to the hotel and decided to walk downtown Nashville (which was our back yard for the week!)

Sunday Morning we went to Church with my again very wonderful friends - the Norsworthys. It was really a very cute little Church and very much what I am used to! Then we went shopping for groceries...at Kroger (classic southern store!) Where my Jewel card actually worked!!! :)
That night we went to the Songwriters showcase, where we saw a lot of songwriters perform acoustically - it was SO COOL!!! Of course Toby Mac...was amazing! On our way down to the ballroom for the showcase we actually ran into the greatest guy ever!!! Phil Conner - who is -WOW! - Cool! :) He introduced us to some guys that were with him...one who happend to be Luke Menard from this years American Idol...very nice guy!

Monday Morning we took a drive back to my heart - Franklin. Seriously if you have never visited, you should! We walked around for a bit and got some YUMMY chocolate and hot chocolate at the coolest Chocolate shop that I can not remember the name of at the moment. Then I had some post cards to mail at the post office, as Angela was waiting for me she spotted this poster with Sevenglory's name on it....we had to get a picture because we were pretty excited for them! (and we actually got to go to that show!)
That night was another showcase with Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, and Third Day. It was a great show....a couple of the our friends from Sevenglory were there too...so we got to chat with them for quite some time waiting for the show to finally start! Sevenglory were also playing later down the street and it turned out that they got on stage at the same time as Third Day did....SO we were doing a lot of running back and forth! It was worth it though! :)
I also got to catch up with an old friend who is probably one of the best men around Dave J....he really does know how to take care of a lot in so many different areas. Right now he is Third Day's sound man. It was GREAT to see him again! I also finally got a good picture of Tai his hat...that I won on ebay years ago!

Oh and this day...I was dropping EVERYTHING! I even got a nice bruise on my foot from dropping a whole bottle of 33oz. of shampoo on it!

April 22, 2008...
This day....we decided that there was a lot going on and we were just going to hang out. We first ran into Barlowgirl and chatted for a few minutes - mostly about how amazing Sarah is and great deals on clothes! ;) We walked around a little bit and saw some radio interviews being recorded. Superchic[k] was worth watching the whole time...it was hilarious! Then I ran into another old friend who I was not expecting to see at all...Mike Payne, who plays with Matthew West right now. I met him years ago while he was playing in a band with some friends of mine. He actually remembered my face and my last name - which was to me completely impressive, I haven't talked to him in a long time! He was really cool about given me some people to talk to for jobs - hopefully in the near future! Then....we ran into my great friend Phil Conner again. We spent the remainder of the afternoon with Phil. These were by far the most succesful 3 hours of our trip. We ran - literally because Phil has some long legs - around Nashville learning how to do business. (If you can even call it business!?!?!) I personally did actually learn a lot...there was a ton of fun that went on and too much to share with the world for sure....but I will give you a quick list of some things we learned.

1. Confidence - (this is like the only real thing that was useful, everything else is goofy....BUT this really is important.) For years I have known Phil and I know he is amazing at what he does and everything he needs to make happen business wise happens like 100times better than what could have been expected. But for some reason I don't know why - I never ever thought of it as confidence - I just always knew there was "something" that he has - that you have to have to be successful. However, when I was walking and "interning" with Phil....through all the hilariously goofy stuff...he truly has great confidence and that is definitely something I need to work on and quickly!
2. You can never know too many people. (this one is also a very good and important one, because it is true!)
3.
Always wear you sunglasses so people can't read you.
4. Using "Here's the deal..." before any sentence even if not necessary - sounds cool.
5. How to freshen up in a parking garage.
6. Zip Zip Boom!

Then after all of that....we enjoyed an Inpop Records showcase. I got to catch up with my Wonderful friend Paul Colman who I really love. He is such a great guy!!!! :)

Also since Phil know a lot of people and has been around for awhile....he asked Tai Anderson (from Third Day) to get a picture with me. Thanks again Phil!

Awards day...We started out our day by going to the OpryMills Mall which was super fun! We loaded up on the most comfortable flip flops I have ever owned! They are from the Gap Outlet at that Mall...I have only seen them there and trust me after purchasing my first pair last June I have been on the look out for them, so I brought some back for the whole family! :)
Then we went to a very nice lunch at J.Alexander's in Nashville. Although I much prefer the one in Franklin! Then we went back to the hotel and got ready for the Dove Awards. It was a very fun evening! The show was great and "Uncle Toby (Mac) did it Big, Baby!" Afterwards we went to an After Party that DeGarmo & Key was playing at....and Jason from Hawk Nelson got up and sang "Destined to Win" it was very much fun!

This Morning we went for breakfast with my again lovely friends the Norsworthys - who have the cutest baby boy ever! He's so adorable! Then before we left to go home for good....I just needed to go back to Franklin where we got our Starbucks for the day, then ran into Matthew West and his family. Then ran into Phil one last time and said goodbye....he left us with one last thing about chewing gum. Oh boy! :)

So I had an awesome week.....until I got a speeding ticket in Seymour, IN and I wasn't even going all that fast....and the Police Officer was a real jerk! So I was really upset, I even started crying..... :(

But my week was still wonderful and I am so happy I have the great memories I have!

(This is long and probably not at all what a blog should be, and I'm sure my pictures are not really blog worthy but....I hope you at least somewhat enjoyed my week with me!)
Unitl next time...peace!
